It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Iris Mowbray, beloved spouse of MSP Fallen Hero, Sgt. Wallace Mowbray, who was killed in the line of duty in 1975. Mrs. Mowbray passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 with numerous family members by her side.

August 23, 1934 ~ October 19, 2023 (age 89)
Iris A. Mowbray, 89, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Cambridge on August 23, 1934 and was a daughter of the late Russell and Addie Jones Oliphant.
Mrs. Mowbray graduated from Vienna High School class 1952. In January of 1955, she married the late Sgt. Wallace J. Mowbray. She was a homemaker and later worked part time at TLC Daycare. Mrs. Mowbray enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Kent Island United Methodist Church, Knights of Pythias and COPS.
She is survived by three children Robin Mowbray MacGillivray and husband Todd of Cambridge, Rusty Mowbray and wife Victoria of Cambridge and Ryan Mowbray and wife Patty of Cambridge, seven grandchildren Justin Hoxter, Monica Weber, Megan Hawkins, John Mowbray II, Kassidy Mowbray, Kristin Cannon, Katie Mowbray, numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mowbray is preceded in death by a sister Francis Fitzhugh and her brother in law Ernest Fitzhugh.
SERVICES
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P. A. 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 with Mr. Keith Parkerson officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
