MSP Legacy Triangle Patch Image

The MSPAA in cooperation with the MSP is seeking information for the “First Era of the Maryland State Police, (1920’s to 1930’s). Detailed research has gone into the History of the MSP but we are looking for more focused, personal vignettes from family, friends or acquaintances whenever possible, to bring our historical story to life. This history includes news articles, historical memorabilia, and personal accounts of the beginnings of our department. Our plan is to successfully host a “Soft Opening” of our Museum by Fall 2021. If you can help with researching the historical information for the MSPAA Museum, please give us a call or email.

We have several historical areas that retired Troopers can help research. We are particularly interested in identifying/locating the family members of our first three appointees to the Maryland State Road Force Police; F.M. Litzenberger, R.W. Schnitzer and W.M. Ensor, as reported from The Midland Journal, Rising Sun, Cecil County, Maryland, Friday, December 31, 1920, volume XLIII, No. 20. This is the time that we need your involvement in a project that can be a lasting legacy for our descendants. Any information that you believe would be beneficial to this research, we are respectfully asking for your assistance.
