The MSPAA sadly announces the recent passing of one of “Maryland’s Finest,” TFC Thomas Stephen Beman.

OBITUARY
Thomas Stephen Beman
April 21, 1951 ~ October 17, 2024 (age 73)
Thomas Stephen Beman, 73, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2024. Tom was born on April 21, 1951. Tom grew up in Yonkers, New York and called Poquoson home for the last six years.
Tom was one of five siblings and enjoyed spending time with his family on their property on Barrett Lake, New York.
He served as a Maryland State Police Officer for 34 years, both as a sworn officer and a civilian in the crime scene unit. Tom was nominated for Maryland State Officer of the Year in 1994. He was active in training the volunteer crime scene search team for northern Maryland. Tom also served in the Army National Guard for four years.
He was a faithful member of Poquoson Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, attending kids and grandkids sports events, and coaching kids’ sports teams. Tom was the life of the party at every event.
Tom is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Arthur and Harriet Beman; brother, Arty Beman; sister, Carol Miner.
His memory is cherished by his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda Beman; children, Bryan Beman and beloved daughter-in-law, Jessica; Audrey Hammond and beloved son-in-law, Craig; grandchildren, Zachary Beman, Madison Beman, Seth Hammond, Eliza Hammond, Anna Hammond, and Natalie Hammond; siblings, James Beman and Joan Guthrie.
SERVICES
A funeral service was held at Poquoson Baptist Church, 283 Wythe Creek Road, Poquoson, VA 23662 on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
