OBITUARY

Charles Ronald (Ron) Twigg of Tarpon Springs, Fl. (formerly of Frederick, MD and Gaithersburg, MD) passed away on January 15, 2023, at Suncoast Hospice, Palm Harbor, FL.

He was born November 14, 1936, Cumberland, MD to the late Anna Laura (Delbrugge) and Charles Loay Twigg. He is survived by his wife Carol Elena Smith-Twigg, Tarpon Springs, his son Troy Edward Twigg, Clermont, FL, grandchildren Oliva and Adam Twigg of MA, step-grandchildren George and Alexandra Psaras of TX, sister Delores O’Neil and niece Karen Alexander of CO.

Ron graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1955 and was in the US Marines and Navy Seabees Reserves. Upon graduation from Maryland State Police Academy, he was stationed at Fredrick Barrick where he was primary radar operator, and instrumental in the start of auto inspections, and later stationed in Rockville. He studied Criminal Justice at Montgomery College and went on to start Eagle Security & Detective Agency in Gaithersburg. He became a Federal Government contract investigator with Homeland Security Agency, Department of Defense, State Department, NSA, US Border Patrol and ADC, LTD in Alburquerque, NM, and a life member of Frederick Elks Lodge #684 and Frederick American Legion.

A quote from a very close friend “The world has lost a true “CHARACTER”. A person who brought joy and happiness to those of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ron plowed through life with an upbeat focus that we should all share.”

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Tarpon Spring, FL.
