OBITUARY
Stephen Charles Reynolds, 74, of Berlin, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home at Gull Creek Assisted Living, surrounded by his loving family and devoted companion, Shirley Rhodes, on June 09, 2025.
Born on June 21, 1950, in Ft. Lewis, Washington, to Donald Francis Reynolds and Eileen Reynolds (née McCarthy), Steve’s early life was shaped by his father’s military career, which allowed the family to travel extensively. After graduating high school and then earning his two-year degree, he proudly joined the Maryland State Police. He dedicated 27½ years to the force, retiring with the rank of First Lieutenant. Continuing his lifelong commitment to public service, Steve later served with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, retiring once more in 2016.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Jane (Norm) Collins; his son, Don (Kim) Reynolds; and his six grandchildren: Ryan Collins, Casey Collins, Grady Reynolds, Gage Reynolds, Gunnar Reynolds, and Alexander Johnson. He is also survived by his sister, Ann (Jim) Duffy, and his brother, Dale Reynolds, along with several nieces and nephews.
