OBITUARY
Janet Vivian Galyon, 83, of Finksburg, MD passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at her home.
Born July 4, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Sylvan and Freda (neé Bass) Nathan. She was the wife of the late Cpl. James L. Galyon, MDSP, Retired, who died in 2016.
Prior to retirement, Janet was a long time employee of the Maryland State Police and served as a PCO and Administrative Aide and retired from the MSP in June of 2002. Janet was a life member of the MSPAA. She was an active member of Clearfield Bible Church in Westminster, MD. She loved knitting and cats. She was very social and enjoyed being around people.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Tammye L. and Joseph Zgorski of Finksburg, MD; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Steven Zeeler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ivy Woods Feline Sanctuary (online at ivywoods.org) or another no-kill animal shelter of choice.
