August 5, 1945 – August 8, 2023
It is with great sadness that I notify all that retired F/Sgt Michael E. Wenrich, a pilot in the MSP Aviation Command, passed away suddenly on August 8, 2023.
Mike was a very talented pilot and I was privileged to have flown some missions with him, including landing a Jet Ranger on the Bay Bridge in 1980-something.
F/Sgt. Wenrich is probably better known for his involvement in the procurement of the Aerospatiale Dauphin fleet in the 1990’s. His representation on the Procurement Team resulted in a fleet which propelled the Aviation Command into the modern era with Instrument Flight capability. As many of you are aware, the Dauphin’s signature sound was frequently heard throughout Maryland for over 20 years.
Please join me in remembering F/Sgt. Wenrich and in prayers for him and his family during this time.
