It is with great sadness that I report of the passing of MSP Retired Cpl. Robert “Bob” Heuisler on January 8, 2026, with his family by his side.
Bob fought a long and courageous battle. On January 1st, he entered his ninth month as a patient in the ICU at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The family would like to thank everyone who offered support, prayers, and assistance throughout those nine months.

OBITUARY
Robert Read Heuisler, Jr., 67, of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, with his family at his side. Born on June 2, 1958, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Read Heuisler, Sr. and Frances Blake Heuisler. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Carolyn Ann Heuisler.
Robert, known to most as Bob or Bobby, served for over 30 years for the Maryland State Police and Federal Government. Bob received numerous awards for his actions from Local, State and Federal Agencies. His passions included poetry, art, auctioneering, acting, sports collecting, stand-up comedy, thrift shopping, and cheering on his hometown Ravens and Orioles. His favorite place to be was spending quality time with his family, either playing with his grandchildren or on vacation in South Carolina with his wife Carol.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are daughters: Jennifer Houck and husband Lloyd, Jr. of York, PA, Kathleen Scott and husband Ryan of Waynesboro, PA, Rachel Cuevas and husband Mason of Beaumont, TX, grandchildren: Landon, Hudson, Oaklynn, Rilynn, Roman, and Marcella. He is also survived by his siblings: William “Jake” Heuisler and his Wife Margaret, Angela M. Coady, and Victoria M. Heuisler.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 13 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14 at 10 am.
Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
