We are broken hearted to report the tragic loss of an active Maryland State Police Cpl. Kenneth K. Shilling, III of the Planning & Research Division and formerly of the Hagerstown Barrack. Cpl. Shilling died on March 15, 2025 as result of complications from a recent surgery. He is the son of MSP retired Sgt. Kenneth Shilling, Jr. The Alumni sends prayers and condolences to the family and coworkers of Cpl. Shilling.

OBITUARY
Kenneth Kermit Shilling, III, 39, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Saturday, March 15, 2025, at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore.
Born Friday, July 5, 1985, in Cheverly, MD, he was the son of Kenneth Kermit Shilling, II and Bonnie (Bartlett) Shilling of Mt. Airy, MD.
Kenny graduated from Chapelgate Christian Academy in 2004. Later he completed the Maryland State Police Academy in 2008. During his employment with the Maryland State Police. he served as a Trooper in the Westminster, Rockville, Frederick and Hagerstown barracks.
He loved weight lifting, learning, grilling, laughing and enjoyed being outdoors with his family, especially his boys. Kenny had a great love for the Lord and showed this as an active member of Grace Reformed Fellowship where he taught youth ministry.
Besides his parents he is survived by his wife Melinda (Kidd) Shilling, sons, Blake Evan Shilling and Corbin Kenneth Shilling, sister, Kathryn S. Espey and husband Nathaniel and brother, Kristopher K. Shilling.
SERVICES
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Services will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 at10:00 AM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Garry L. Knaebel officiating.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Kenny for the benefit of his children Blake and Corbin c/o Kimberleigh Rambol 20 Forest Trail, Fairfield, PA 17320.
