OBITUARY
Gordon Lee Tittsworth, 84, of Littlestown, formerly of Ellicott City, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Pappus House. He was the loving husband of Jo Ann (Caynor) Tittsworth.
Born April 15, 1941, in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Severn and Mary C. (Gordon) Tittsworth.
Gordon was raised in Ellicott City and attended local schools before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force for four years during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his military service, he dedicated 25 years of service as a Maryland State Police Trooper, from which he retired with honor.
Never one to remain idle, Gordon continued to serve others in retirement, working with FEMA and spending three months assisting with relief efforts following the events of September 11th.
In his free time, Gordon enjoyed participating in historical “Rendezvous” gatherings, where he and fellow enthusiasts would dress in period attire and spend days immersed in the lifestyle of earlier times. He also had a passion for riding his Harley-Davidson and was a proud member of the Battlefield H.O.G. Chapter in Gettysburg. Known for his warm and outgoing personality, Gordon never met a stranger—he had a gift for conversation and made friends wherever he went.
Above all, Gordon was a devoted husband and father who cherished time with his family. His kindness, humor, and genuine love for people will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gordon Lee Tittsworth II and his wife, Dawn, of York; along with many loving extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Terry and Kenny Tittsworth.
