OBITUARY
Lawrence “Larry” Conrad Meusel Jr., 82, of North East, MD, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025. Born in Baltimore City, MD on February 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Rose May Blackburn Meusel.
Larry began his distinguished career in law enforcement with the Maryland State Police, where he served honorably for 36 years and rose through the ranks, retiring as a Captain. Not one to rest, he continued his commitment to public safety by joining the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as Chief Deputy for 12 years before retiring for the second and final time. Beyond his professional life, Larry was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting. Above all, his family came first and was his pride and joy. Larry was also deeply committed to the values of fraternity and community. He was a proud member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry since 1988 and an active member of the Maryland State Troopers Association Lodge 15, as well as Jephthah Lodge No. 222 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Bouchelle Meusel, daughters, Karen Scheeler, Havre de Grace, MD, Susan Meusel, Tampa, FL, Amber Pucci, North East, MD, and Amanda McAnulty (Casey), Rising Sun, MD; grandchildren, Paul Michael O’Donnell (Jen), Kaleigh Scheeler (Gabe), LCpl Dustin Flowers Jr. USMC, Sean “DJ” Diamonte, and Addison Diamonte; great-granddaughter, Madison O’Donnell; his brother, Francis “Pat” Meusel (Sharon), Joppatowne, MD; and his loving K-9 companion, Charlee.
Funeral service will be held 12 PM, Friday, October 3, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Maryland State Troopers Association at 1300 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208.
