On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, a group of MSP retirees and fellow state retirees from District Court, State Hospital, and Holly Center travelled to Annapolis to support HB 670 to retain our prescription drug plan. This included a group of professional s from the University of Maryland. Honestly, we made better strides before and after the hearing. There were 14 witnesses allowed to testify that day. That was very discouraging as the cut-off to sign up was the Friday before the hearing. Yet another reality how technology works against us. We made our presence known and received praise from several delegates from the Appropriations Committee. In these last three weeks of the session. I urge you to continue you to write, email, or call the delegate on the committees that heard both SB349 and HB670.
We need a “stay” or Amendment or a Sunset Provision to preserve our scripts.
Thank you to all of those that supported the issue. Thank you to the Wisdom Institute at UMBC and their retirees for actively supporting this issue. They provided outstanding testimony to benefit all of us.
